Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha met with Dame Karen Pierce, the United Kingdom’s Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, in New York, USA.

During the meeting, the two officials discussed current developments and dynamics across the Western Balkans. They also highlighted the importance of regional cooperation and connectivity.

Hoxha said the meeting also provided an opportunity to exchange views on the challenges and opportunities facing the region.

“We also exchanged views on the challenges and opportunities ahead. We stressed the importance of continued close coordination between Albania and the United Kingdom in support of a more stable, safer and more European Western Balkans,” Hoxha said in a post on X.

Meanwhile, Hoxha highlighted the importance of continued cooperation between Albania and the UK. He said the partnership remains an important part of Albania’s engagement in the region and beyond.

In addition, the meeting underlined the value of close coordination on regional developments. Both sides discussed the need for stronger cooperation to support stability, security and European integration in the Western Balkans.
