International Seminar on Albanian Language, Literature, and Culture Gathers 150 Participants

The 43rd edition of the International Seminar on Albanian Language, Literature, and Culture hosts 150 active participants from around the world, including the U.S., Turkey, China, Russia, Syria, and several European countries.
During the 12-day event, participants will present papers, give lectures, and visit natural and cultural sites in Kosova, including the city of Peja. Concerts will also feature performances, including by an Arbëresh group from Calabria, Italy.
Seminar director Lindita Sejdiu emphasized its importance for albanological studies and Kosova. She noted the pedagogical aspect, offering Albanian language courses for students worldwide to learn the language and culture.
Sejdiu highlighted the seminar’s historic role as a bridge between Albanian communities in Kosova, Italy, and the wider Diaspora during Albania’s isolation. She added that the seminar promotes Albanian language and Albanology sciences globally.
The event also strengthens institutions and international links. It covers linguistics, literature, history, and anthropology. The opening ceremony is scheduled for August 18 at the Ali Hadri Historical Institute in Prishtina. The seminar will conclude on August 29.
