Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Sports, Blendi Gonxhja, met with Antonio Durso, a long-time friend and supporter of Albania, who is now also a collaborator of the Ministry.

During the meeting, Gonxhja and Durso discussed strengthening cooperation between Albania and Italy’s Puglia region in the fields of tourism, culture, and sports.

The talks also focused on initiatives related to tourism activities and historic vehicle caravans across Albania’s cultural and natural routes. Other key topics included the “RETRO” museum project within Automotopark Albania, as well as partnerships with leading Italian tour operator brands and sectoral excellence networks for destination management and visitor engagement in experience, tradition, and adventure tourism.

In a social media post, Minister Gonxhja stated that “2026 awaits us with new ideas and initiatives,” emphasizing efforts to institutionalize cooperation for innovative international tourism, cultural, and sports activities in collaboration with organizations, clubs, and associations of historical passion, as well as regional partner agencies and institutions focused on promoting Albania.
