The Italian Embassy in Pristina hosted a reception tonight for high-level officials in Kosovo, marking Italy’s national day.

Italy’s new ambassador, Maurizio Antonini, said the Italian Republic Day symbolizes national unity and democracy.

He told attendees that Italy supports Kosovo’s path toward EU integration. He stressed the importance of EU enlargement in the Balkans as key to political stability and continental security.

President Vjosa Osmani also spoke at the event. She praised Italy’s support for Kosovo, calling it a steadfast friend during tough times and on the country’s journey to EU membership.

Accredited ambassadors in Pristina and political leaders attended the celebration. Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti was not present.
