TIRANA, April 20 – Konispol enters a new development phase that will combine cultural heritage with tourism and agriculture-based activity, according to the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports.

Minister Blendi Gonxhja said the plan will turn the area into a stronger cultural and tourism destination.

The 2026–2029 Operational Program allocates around 500 million Lek for the project “Integrated interventions for cultural tourism and agritourism development – Region 4.” The Albanian Development Fund will implement the project with coordination from national cultural institutions and the local municipality.

The plan includes a new museum complex and expanded agritourism activities. It aims to protect heritage sites and turn them into a driver of local jobs and economic activity.

Authorities already granted Konispol the status of an urban architectural ensemble with special historical and cultural value, a designation that supports preservation and structured tourism development.
