Konjufca: Prishtina determined to dialogue with Belgrade; no concessions to the detriment of the territory of Kosovo

Prishtina is determined to dialogue with Belgrade, but without making any concessions to the detriment of the territory of Kosovo. The statement was issued from Tirana by the speaker of Kosovo Assembly, Glauk Konjufca, after a meeting with the counterpart of Albania, Lindita Nikolla. Konjufca called Vucic’s approach to Kosovo dangerous and that it has not changed since the time of Slobodan Milosevic. For this reason, he asked Nikolla that the positions of Albania towards Serbia should be on the same line in order to protect the interests of Kosovo.
During the meeting, Speaker Nikolla focused on the resolution against Dick Marty’s report on the illegal trafficking of human organs, while Konjufca asked her for help to lobby for new recognitions, extending also thanks to Albania for its support on these important issues. Konjufca said that the end of the year will find Kosovo Albanians with liberalized visas.
“I want to thank you for this warm hospitality. Your contribution and help is appreciated. In every opportunity that is given to you, even in meetings of important levels, you constantly raise the issue of Kosovo, staying as you have always been close to it. Also regarding the necessity of new recognitions and all initiatives of Kosovo for membership in international and European institutions. And so is your unstoppable lobbying for Kosovo’s visa liberalization. Efforts that are giving the first results”, he said.
Meanwhile, Nikola appreciated the cooperation between the two countries and emphasized that Albania has done and will do everything for the issues of Kosovo.
In the context of the joint meeting between the two assemblies in November, in Albania, the joint memorandum was signed today by the Speaker of the parliament of Albania, Lindita Nikolla, and the Speaker of Kosovo, Glauk Konjufca.
