Konjufca: Relations between Kosovo and Serbia are much worse than the Russia-Ukraine. We should prepare for the worst case scenario

The Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Glauk Konjufca, said that the state relations between Kosovo and Serbia are much worse than the Russia-Ukraine, therefore he says that based on this, the possibility of a Serbian aggression against the Republic of Kosovo should never be ruled out. Konjufca says that when it comes to Serbia, one should prepare for the worst case scenario.
The KSF should increase the level of their right to the type of armament and adds that this should be done in partnership with NATO and that NATO should be convinced that Kosovo needs such a thing.
The head of the Assembly says that two months ago no one had thought that such a thing could happen in Ukraine.
“We should never rule out the possibility and potential of a Serbian aggression against the Republic of Kosovo, for this reason we think that the Kosovo security forces should increase the level of their right to the type of armament. So, the Republic of Kosovo should definitely have the artillery level of its army. Of course, we will do this in close cooperation with NATO. “In a way, we have to convince them as partners that Kosovo needs this,” Konjufca said.
Speaking about the current security in Kosovo, the Speaker also mentioned the agreement that NATO has with Serbia, while adding that by recognizing Serbia, there is a fear of its violation by Belgrade.
“The relationship, in the state and institutional sense, of Serbia to the Republic of Kosovo is worse than that of the Russian federation that had it with Ukraine, so the Russian federation has recognized Ukraine and yet attacked it. Serbia does not even recognizes us. “We have much worse relations with Serbia, we must be extra careful in relation to Serbia”, stressed Konjufca.
In this context, Konjufca said that the European Union should change its strategy towards the region for security reasons.
“The Western Balkans should be conceived as a matter of security now and not just a matter of some complex criteria that are never coming to an end, in the domestic sense of the word, that is, the reforms that need to be made.”
Konjufca said the EU should work to create a homogeneous space in Europe, expanding and thus not allow space to Russia.
