TIRANA, November 20 – President of Kosova, Vjosa Osmani, signed a decree to dissolve the Assembly.

Her office issued a statement confirming the decree. It noted that Osmani dissolved the Assembly of the Republic of Kosova.

The statement said that in accordance with the Constitution of Kosova and the applicable legislation, and following the Assembly’s decision on the failure of the second mandate to form a government, President Osmani dissolved the ninth legislature of Kosova.

Preparations for new elections are expected to begin immediately.
