Kosova: Democratic Party and Alliance for the Future continue political action

TIRANA, August 31 – Members of Parliament from the Democratic Party of Kosova (PDK) and the Alliance for the Future of Kosova (AAK) continued their political action outside the government building on Monday. Representatives and activists from the municipalities of Istog and Skënderaj also joined them.
The participants called on Self-Determination Movement leader Albin Kurti to end what they described as an institutional deadlock. PDK lawmaker Mërgim Lushtaku said the issue now concerns citizens as well as political representatives. He said institutional problems affect the country’s wider interests.
AAK lawmaker Albana Bytyçi also called on Kurti to return to parliament and work to establish state institutions. Skënderaj Mayor Fadil Nura urged the governing majority to assume its responsibilities. Meanwhile, PDK representative in Istog Ali Nimanaj raised concerns about municipal budgets and planned capital projects.
The action has entered its fourth week. The MPs, who served in opposition during the previous legislature, have gathered outside the government headquarters and in parliament. They are calling on the Self-Determination Movement to proceed with the formation of institutions and then the election of a president.
