Kosova has confirmed its first case of M pox

National Institute of Public Health of Kosova announced that yesterday, an imported case of M pox was confirmed through the RT-PCR method at the Microbiology Laboratory.
The patient, a 30-year-old male from Kosova, was hospitalized on December 24, 2024, at the Infectious Diseases Clinic/QKUK after returning from a West African country. He presented symptoms including fever, chills, skin lesions on his face and hands, and itching.
Institute reported that the patient is in stable condition.
Kosova Institute of Public Health (IKSHPK) has traced all contacts of the infected individual and his family members, providing them with recommendations for preventive measures and infection control.
