Kosova Removes Customs Tariffs on U.S. Products

Kosova’s caretaker government ended customs tariffs on products from the United States. From now on, all goods originating from the United States will enter Kosovo with zero tariffs, announced Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti during the government meeting on August 1.

Kurti said, “We are taking an important step by removing customs tariffs on American products. Kosova welcomes U.S. goods in its market. We believe this will boost trade and increase investments. This move shows the strong relations between our countries and our commitment to a free trade agreement with the United States”.

Previously, Kosovo applied a 10% customs tariff on American products.

This tariff followed trade measures announced by former U.S. President Donald Trump, affecting about 200 countries worldwide, including Kosova.

Since then, Kosova’s caretaker government faced ongoing calls to lift tariffs on U.S. imports.
