Kosova will sign a Defense Cooperation Framework Agreement with the United States on June 13 in Washington. The agreement will cover the period from 2025 to 2030.

This year, Kosova will again host ‘Defender Europe 2025’, the largest U.S.-led military exercise in Europe. The exercise is organized by U.S. Army Europe and Africa.

Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti said Kosova has been chosen as the host country for the U.S. Division Command. This command will lead all military operations in the Balkan region during the exercise.

Kurti noted this is the third time Kosova will host the exercise. More than 1,000 Kosova Security Force troops will take part, both inside and outside the country.

He added that Kosova has made strong progress toward NATO membership. Under his leadership, the number of soldiers has doubled. The defense budget has tripled. Overseas training has increased fourfold, and the purchase of weapons and ammunition has risen one hundred times.
