Kosovan acting PM Kurti meets NATO Allied Joint Forces Command commander, admiral Wikoff

TIRANA, January 13 – Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosova, Albin Kurti, met with the commander of NATO Allied Joint Forces Command in Naples, American Admiral George M. Wikoff.
The government of Kosova said Kurti welcomed Wikoff to his new position. He offered full cooperation. At the same time, he highlighted strong communication between the government and the NATO mission in Kosova. He added that this coordination helps ensure safety and peace for all citizens.
Kurti described Kosova as a success story of NATO intervention, liberation, and independence. He noted that the country has become a driver of economic development. In addition, he said it provides a foundation for democratic state-building and a source of social welfare. He expressed the gratitude of the people of Kosova to the North Atlantic alliance.
The prime minister emphasized that Kosova aims for full NATO membership. He explained that this approach ensures lasting peace, long-term stability, and regional security. He added that the country’s security starts with protecting its borders.
Kurti briefed Admiral Wikoff on national institutions’ efforts to combat organized crime and enforce the rule of law. He also outlined the country’s investments in defense. Finally, he thanked Admiral Wikoff for the meeting, the discussions, and KFOR’s contribution as the NATO mission in Kosova.
