Kosovan judokas continue to excel on the international stage. At the 2025 European Open in Sarajevo, Flaka Loxha won the bronze medal, while Fatjona Kasapi finished fifth.

Flaka started strong with a clean Ippon victory over Turkey’s Aysenur Karadag. However, she lost in the quarterfinals to Britain’s Chelsie Giles. In the repechage, she defeated Lanina Solley from Great Britain to secure a bronze medal match. There, Loxha beat her compatriot Fatjona Kasapi after a closely contested match that went into overtime.

Meanwhile, Fatjona Kasapi also performed well. She defeated Laura Kallinger (Austria) and Andjela Samardzic (Bosnia and Herzegovina). But she lost in the semifinals to Nika Tomc (Slovenia). In the bronze medal match, she narrowly lost to Loxha, finishing fifth.

These results highlight the strong form of Kosovo’s representatives in international competitions. They earned medals and high rankings in a tournament with tough competition.
