Kosovan President: Attempts to equate the KLA with Serbian crimes undermine justice

TIRANA, February 9 – As the final statements session continues at The Hague for former KLA leaders, Kosovan President Vjosa Osmani warned that any attempt to equate the Kosova Liberation Army with “the crimes of the genocidal Serbian aggressor undermines trust in justice and seriously harms long-term peace.”
Osmani posted on social media that Kosova citizens demand justice. She emphasized that the KLA’s fight “was just and pure.”
“This truth does not change with attempts to rewrite history or to tarnish and devalue the people of Kosovo’s battle for freedom,” Osmani stated.
The Special Court in The Hague began closing arguments today in the trial against former Kosova President Hashim Thaçi, former parliamentary leaders Kadri Veseli and Jakup Krasniqi, and former MP Rexhep Selimi.
All four face charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity. They have pleaded not guilty.
