Kosovan President meets the leaders of friendly Croatia, focus on recent developments

The President of Kosova, Vjosa Osmani is visiting Croatia this Tuesday at the invitation of her counterpart, Zoran Milanovic.

The Kosovan head of state agenda foresees official meetings in Zagreb with the Croatian president, with Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic and with the Speaker of the Parliament, Gordan Jandrokovic.

Milanovic and Osmani will discuss the bilateral relations between Croatia and Kosova, the political and security situation in Southeast Europe, the current events in Northern Kosova, and the country’s Euro-Atlantic perspectives too.

The office of the Croatian presidency announced that Croatia supports Kosova’s membership in international organizations, including support for the granting of the candidate status for membership in the European Union.

“Milanovic has repeatedly publicly called on EU members who have not yet recognized Kosova’s independence to do so. Even in his last speech at the United Nations in New York, President Milanovic emphasized that Croatia defends the recognition of the Republic of Kosova and her right to exist as an equal member of the community of nations.”

During her stay in Croatia, President Osmani will also meet with representatives of the Albanian community, and in addition to Zagreb, she is expected to visit Karlovac and Rijeka.
