TIRANA, December 15 – President of Kosova Vjosa Osmani highlighted the strategic importance of Mitrovica for the state. She stressed the need for inter-institutional cooperation to protect Kosova’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Osmani met with Mitrovica Mayor Faton Peci. She emphasized the political and strategic role of the city for the country.

“I am convinced that, politically, we will cooperate as much as possible to protect Kosova’s sovereignty and integrity. These lands have always belonged to Albanians. The Illyrian cultural heritage in the northern parts of our territory proves this,” Osmani said.

She noted that Mitrovica and northern Kosova are Albanian lands, citing the Illyrian heritage as historical evidence.

Osmani expressed confidence that the new municipal team would bring development, projects, and better prospects for the city’s residents.
