On Wednesday evening (November 23), Kosovo and Serbia reached an agreement on the license plate issue. The news was first announced by the High Representative of the European Union Josep Borrell who wrote that Kosovo and Serbia will enable to avoid further escalation regarding the issue of conversion of Serbian license plates.

The EU’s special envoy for dialogue, Miroslav Lajçak, has thanked the two chief negotiators for the agreement reached on license plates.

The agreement signed between Kosovo and Serbia by the two chief negotiators of the two countries, with the mediation of the European Union, contains the ban on the issuance of license plates by Serbia with the names of the cities of Kosovo, while the latter Kosovo will stop the ban on Serbian vehicles at the border for re-registration theirs. This agreement has been welcomed by the spokesperson of the US Department of State, Ned Price.
