Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani will travel to the United States next week. She will take part in the opening of the United Nations General Assembly.

Bekim Kupina, media adviser to the Presidency, confirmed the visit. He said Osmani will meet with counterparts and officials from various states during her stay. “As in previous years, President Osmani will be in New York for meetings with counterparts and other official activities during the High-Level Week of the UN General Assembly,” Kupina stated.

The visit comes at a sensitive moment. Earlier this month, the United States suspended the planned Strategic Dialogue with Kosovo for an indefinite period. On September 12, the US Embassy in Pristina announced that the decision followed concerns over actions taken by the current government.
