Kosovo Targets Surprise Results in European Volleyball League

Kosovo’s men’s volleyball national team has started intensive preparations in Ferizaj ahead of the European League matches.

At the same time, the team aims to build a competitive squad for the future. Despite having one of the youngest teams in the competition, players and coaches remain optimistic.

Coach Darko Prebiracevic praised the conditions provided by the Volleyball Federation of Kosovo. He also explained that this year’s European League serves as a qualifier for EuroVolley.

Kosovo will compete in three tournaments this summer. First, the team will travel to Latvia to face the hosts and Romania. Afterwards, Kosovo will continue the competition in Estonia. Finally, the third tournament will take place in Kosovo.

Meanwhile, Prebiracevic stressed that the team will enter every match with the ambition to win. He said Kosovo knows Latvia well after facing them last season in a balanced match.

However, he described Romania as a strong opponent with talented young players competing across Europe.

In addition, players have also expressed confidence ahead of the competition. Volleyball player Ermal Maliqi said the team remains optimistic despite the strength of Latvia and Romania.

He also highlighted the growing number of young talents in Kosovo volleyball. Therefore, he called for greater support for young players and long-term development.

Furthermore, player Adriatik Berisha said the squad feels highly motivated after positive performances in recent years.

Although he admitted that Romania and Estonia are among Europe’s strongest teams, he believes Kosovo can deliver strong performances thanks to the experience gained in previous competitions.

As a result, Kosovo enters the European League with a clear vision. The team aims to balance immediate results with the long-term goal of building a strong and sustainable national squad for the future.
