Kosovo will apply for membership in the Council of Europe

Kosovo will apply for membership in the Council of Europe. Sources from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of the Republic of Kosovo have confirmed for Radio Free Europe that the application is ready and will be made soon, probably on Thursday.
The possibility of Kosovo applying for membership in the Council of Europe was mentioned on Wednesday in Brussels by the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, adding that with this, Kosovo is violating the Brussels and Washington Agreements.
The possibility of Kosovo’s accession to the Council of Europe was opened with the expulsion of Russia from this organization.
In the absence of Russia, two thirds of the member states of this organization recognize the independence of Kosovo. Given that decisions are not made by majority, the possibility of Kosovo’s accession is real.
