Minister of Education Mirela Kumbaro met with College of Europe Rector João Gomes Cravinho to discuss the internationalization of higher education and the development of the College of Europe campus in Tirana. The meeting took place as the new academic year begins.

Kumbaro said they discussed new priorities for internationalizing Albanian universities as work continues on the Tirana campus. The project aims to create a new international hub for university life in the capital, with the University of Tirana also taking part.

Kumbaro described the project as a “campus of excellence” that will expand opportunities for academic cooperation and exchange. It will also encourage new ideas and projects and strengthen Tirana’s role as a meeting point for knowledge, education and international academic cooperation.
