The emissary of the European Union for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, reacted after the meeting with the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, emphasizing that he agreed on the importance of taking urgent steps to de-escalate tensions in the north and to progress in the normalization of relations between the two countries.

“I had a useful meeting with Aleksandër Vucic, after today’s meeting of the chief negotiators. We agreed on the importance of urgently taking steps to de-escalate the situation in the north of Kosovo and to make rapid progress in the normalization of relations”, the European Union Emissary for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajçak writes on Twitter.

Earlier, Lajcak reacted to the meeting with the chief negotiator of Kosovo, Besnik Bislim, and of Serbia, Petar Petkovic.

Through a post on the social network Twitter, he emphasized that the discussions during the bilateral meetings included a number of issues, starting from the implementation of the Agreement of February 27 to the escalation of the situation in the north of Kosovo.

He added that the discussions will continue in the next period to find a stable solution for the current tensions between Kosovo and Serbia.
