Under the direction of the Minister of State for Youth and Children, Bora Muzhaqi, together with the General Director of the National Youth Agency (AKR), Alqi Kushi, contracts were signed with the municipalities of Durrës, Dibra, Gjirokastra, Kamza and Lushnja, as winners of grants from the second Call for Youth Project-proposals, that is being financed with the support of the Albanian Government, through AKR.

The main focus of the majority of the applicant municipalities has been the reconstruction or construction of a library for the city, thus conceived not only as reading places, but also as multifunctional spaces, where young people engage in various trainings and conversations.

In Lushnjë municipality, with the support of AKR, the project “Youth for the youth” will be financed, which focuses on the reconstruction of the city’s library, transforming it into a place of entertainment and education, not only for young people but also for children.

A library has also been the request of young people from the municipality of Kamëz, who applied to the Call of the AKR with the project entitled “Together for an active youth”.

In this municipality, 16,379 young people are expected to benefit from the efficient use of the building. Likewise, a library will be built in Dibër municipality, where 40% of the young people of this city will have the opportunity to read.

However, with the Durrës municipality project for the reconstruction of the Multifunctional Youth Center that will be financed by the Albanian Government, 92 thousand young people will benefit. They will have the opportunity, through the accessibility of the infrastructure, to become part of activities specific to them.

The municipality of Gjirokastër will also build a Multifunctional Youth Center, which will also include a cinema for over 10,000 young people of this city, bringing art closer to the citizens.

This year, the Call for Youth Project Proposals for local self-government units, aimed at the reconstruction, construction, reconstruction and operation of public facilities, part of the youth infrastructure such as: youth centers, libraries and recreational centers for young people.
