Light, Color and Music – Shkodra Opens Carnival Celebrations

The first day of the Shkodra Carnival took place last night. The city’s main square turned into a space full of color, lights and festive energy.

Citizens of all ages gathered to watch the opening performances. Music, masks and artistic shows created a magical evening for the public.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared moments from the festive parade on social media. He invited people to join the celebration and enjoy the performances.

“Come to Shkodra – until February 15. Music, masks, colors and festive atmosphere, full of energy,” Rama wrote.

The Shkodra Carnival revives the tradition of colorful and musical celebrations. It creates an attractive environment for families, young people and visitors. It also promotes the city as a cultural and tourist destination.

During the evening, the square filled with lights, special decorations and artistic performances. Dancers, live music and creative masks turned the city into a magical stage.

The celebration continues until February 15. The program includes various cultural and artistic activities. The event stands as a key reference point for carnivals in Albania.

In Shkodra, the carnival tradition dates back to 1860. It remains one of the most enduring elements of the city’s cultural and urban life. Generations have preserved the craft skills and creative spirit of the community.
