Linda Guri and photographer Ergys Zhabjaku open an exhibition

Linda Guri and photographer Ergys Zhabjaku exhibit 31 photographs and a video installation at the Prime Minister’s premises. The young artist tells why she chose the woman in the center of the exhibition “Touch” and how it has influenced the realization of works, the profession as a make up artist.
She has used red light, to create a warmer atmosphere, while avoiding the physical presence, Linda Guri invites visitors to her first exhibition at the premises of the Prime Minister.

31 unusual photos of a video installation placed “on black metallic canvas” are conceived through “Touching” the brush, photography and other materials aiming to express emotions; be they “Awakening particles”, a “Vortex of dreams in search of light” … or maybe “Touch of love”. Visual narratives confuse visitors, whether they are in front of a photograph or a painting. But how much has the profession helped Linda as a make-up artist?

“I did not start this collection in the field of make up, but as an experiment in these portraits. A portrait that came as a painting, but in this case it is a real portrait, in a real being where it reacts and gives other emotions “, says the artist.

Expressionism and Impressionism have attracted her since the time of her studies, especially the works that have focused on women. And as she says, “Touch” was a way to start with the same inspiration. The model is the same, the architect Nikol Kaso, of one of the photos bears her name.

“I chose the woman because through her I would be able to give the emotions I wanted. Then, I wore this portrait of a woman in colors to remind us a little bit of the painting, and beyond it I wore it with other elements, with elements of our daily life. With a phone that we use on a daily basis, with water and dust, I chose these three elements as they have a kind of transparency in themselves and would allow me to maintain the elegance of the portrait. Also, the colors used in the portrait would be visible. So, I wanted to create emotion with these elements and turn the ordinary into the extraordinary. “

In the composition of the portraits, the images fixed by the photographer Ergys Zhabjaku come as embodied emotions. The exhibition will remain open until February 28.
