Lviv declared the European Youth Capital 2025, Veliaj: This year taught us many things

Lviv, the Ukrainian city, was announced yesterday as the European Youth Capital for 2025, in a ceremony held at the Opera and Ballet Theatre. The title was handed over by the mayor Erion Veliaj, since Tirana held the title of European Youth Capital this year, where over 1000 activities were held for young people.
The mayor also shared a piece of his experience as the leader of the city that held the title of European Youth Capital.

“This year taught us many things. I believe that the real achievement of the Year of Youth, of Tirana the European Capital of Youth, has been the construction of a cathedral of our hearts, our minds and our goals as Europeans, as people who work together, win together, progress together and they are proud of each other, their neighbors and their new friends”, he said.

For all those who are visitors to Tirana, I hope you stay until the weekend, where as we end the year where we were the European Youth Capital, Dua Lipa ends her world tour in Tirana. If you want to stay even longer, on December 6 the heads of the European Union and those of the Balkans will meet in Tirana, for a historic summit of Europe united with the countries of the Western Balkans. And if you want to stay, we will consider giving you an Albanian passport, so that you never run away again,” said the head of the Municipality.

“Even though we are at the end, the month of December awaits us with the realization of many other activities, translated into workshops, trainings, seminars, exhibitions, festivals, concerts, sports championships and many more,” said Aspasjana Kongo, Coordinator of General of “Tirana, European Youth Capital 2022”, National Youth Congress.

“I want to thank the Municipality of Tirana as a serious partner in this journey full of challenges, which has found itself at every moment and has embraced these initiatives,” said Dafina Peçi, Executive Director of the National Youth Congress.

Four were the finalist cities for the title of the next European Youth Capital: Izmir, Fuenlabrada, Tromso and Lviv.
