Margariti: Transhumance accepted under the protection of UNESCO

The ancient tradition of livestock migration, Transhumance has been accepted under the protection of UNESCO. The news was announced by the Minister of Culture, Elva Margariti, who wrote on Facebook that Albania applied in a joint file with Spain, Andorra, Croatia, Luxembourg and Romania.
“Transhumance in UNESCO! Good news comes from Botswana: exactly one year after the xhubleta was accepted under the protection of UNESCO, the Intergovernmental Committee for the Protection of the Intangible Cultural Heritage voted to include Transhumance in the list of intangible cultural heritage of the world, for which we applied in a joint dossier with Spain, Andorra, Croatia, France, Luxembourg and Romania, joining Italy, Austria and Greece, which were included in 2019. The tradition of livestock migration is an ancient tradition that has crossed centuries and countries; a lifestyle rich with pastoral songs, instruments, clothing, rituals, feasts and culinary skills”, writes Margariti.
The minister hopes that this news will be a good omen for the other files submitted by our country to UNESCO.
“Let this be a good omen for the other files that the Ministry of Culture has submitted to UNESCO, prepared by experts in the field with the financial support of our partner The_AADF. Thank you for creating a winning dossier!” Margariti writes in her post on social networks.
