“MEDIUMS”: Contemporary Theater Festival Kicks off in Tirana

The Contemporary Theater Festival (MEDIUMS) has kicked off in Tirana, marking a significant cultural event that gathers artists, theater troupes, festival curators, and both international and national critics.

Such a festival places the capital city on the international artistic calendar.

The Center for Openness and Dialogue (COD) announced that the Contemporary Theater Festival in Tirana (MEDIUMS) opened at the Radura venue with the performance “Presenting Albania,” delivered through an enchanting monologue. This piece combines autobiographical stories, excerpts from the writings of Pier Paolo Pasolini, and adaptations by Klaus Martini. It takes the audience on a personal journey, creating a special connection between Pasolini’s Friuli and Ilir’s Albania.

The Contemporary Theater Festival is a platform aimed at increasing awareness and interest in theatrical art in Tirana through contemporary international performances, fostering professional dialogue, and educating the audience on artistic and aesthetic levels.

This artistic event aspires to become an annual initiative with a long-term impact on audience growth and increasing the number of involved artists and collaborators. The festival will provide more opportunities for young artists and art-loving citizens.
