Meeting in Brussels: Kosova Government Calls for Timely Implementation of Ohrid Agreement, Serbia Refuses

Government of Kosova has shared details from yesterday’s meetings as part of the dialogue process mediated by the EU in Brussels.

The day began with a bilateral meeting with EU Special Representative Miroslav Lajcak, followed by a trilateral meeting. A variety of topics were discussed in the bilateral meeting, while the trilateral session focused on the agenda regarding the implementation of the Basic Agreement and the Annex of Ohrid.

During both meetings, Deputy PM Besnik Bislimi of Kosova emphasized the urgent need for the complete and timely implementation of the Basic Agreement and the Annex, advocating for a fair and equitable sequencing plan between the parties.

He also highlighted the importance of signing agreements as guarantees for their enforcement, especially given Serbia’s ongoing refusal to accept the agreement and its red lines that undermine the spirit and provisions of the pact. Bislimi stressed the need for Serbia to withdraw the letter submitted by former PM Ana Brnabic and to extradite Milan Radoicic, who is accused of being involved in the terrorist act in Banjska.

The issue of missing persons was also addressed during the bilateral talks with Lajcak, where Serbia continues to block the implementation of the joint declaration.

Additionally, discussions included agreements on freedom of movement, energy, and official visits. Lajcak praised the opening of the technical inspection center in the north and noted that interconnection lines are expected to be launched within a month, further advancing the implementation of the energy agreement.
