Mentor Xhemali has gone down in history as one of the colossi who founded Opera House.

He was born on May 12, 1924. One of the icons of Albanian operatic music. Mentor Xhemali, People’s Artist, will remain one of the most outstanding figures of vocal art.

He remains one of the greatest basses, a warm voice, loved by all, an honored name of Albanian art and music.

Among his impressive performances in the operas, the roles in the operas: “The Bartered Bride”, “Traviata”, “Jolanda”, “The Barber of Seville”, “Aleko”, “Eugjen Onjegin”, and many other prominent roles are highlighted.

His participation in concerts abroad has been numerous and impressive, such as in: former Yugoslavia, former Soviet Union, Poland, Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary, Bulgaria, Austria, Finland, Cuba, Turkey, China, etc.

Every time his name will be mentioned, the great song “Per ty Atdhe” (For my Homeland) will be remembered.
