Violinist Enver Qerimaj was honored by the President of the Republic with the title “Grand Master”, an appreciation that many of his admirers had long given, not only in different cities of Albania, but also in the stages of other countries. 

The Durrës violinist was called “Maestro”, since the period of military service during tours in China and Vietnam. The well-known artist was applauded for a long time on the stage of the Gjirokastra Folklore Festival, where he performed the pearls of Albanian music.

70-year-old Enver Qerimaj remembers the pleasure given by the applause of the public, but also the difficulties he encountered in the artistic path. In more than half a century of artistic career he has been part of well-known orchestral formations of classical music, which have been welcomed in Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Macedonia.

He has composed and orchestrated light music songs; and has successfully interpreted the “Rhapsody in blue” by Gërshëin; has conveyed with the sounds of the violin endless emotions to the Durrës audience who appreciate him immensely. The virtuoso artist from Durrës will now have the official title “Grand Master”, a fully deserved title.
