Murals of St. Todri Church in the Laboratory of the Institute of Cultural Heritage

Specialized conservation and restoration work is underway. Experts are treating fragments of the mural paintings from St. Todri Church in Kadipashaj (Lushnjë). The work takes place in the restoration laboratory of the National Institute of Cultural Heritage.

The team follows professional standards and modern methods. They protect the authenticity and artistic and historical values of the murals for future generations.

St. Todri Church in Kadipashaj is a Cultural Monument. Joan Çetiri created it in the first half of the 19th century.

The church has undergone restoration works. These works strengthen the structure, improve the drainage system, and restore architectural elements.

Specialists from the National Institute of Cultural Heritage supervise the interventions. The works began last year. The goal is to preserve the church’s historical and spiritual values. The project also aims to restore the church as a living space of community cultural identity.

The restoration of the mural paintings in the ICH laboratory is very important. The team is also restoring the iconostasis and the decorated wooden ceiling in the naos, which is unique of its kind.
