On August 12, 1923, actor Naim Frashëri was born.
He came from a family of beys in Përmet and carried the name of the Albanian National Awakening poet from the Frashëri lineage.

Frashëri made his debut on the stage of the National Theatre in 1945. Earlier, he had performed with the partisan theatre. Both a fighter and an actor, he stood out for his creative interpretations.

He shone in roles such as Valeri in Tartuffe, Gjoni in The Brave Man with Many Friends, the general in The General of the Dead Army, Leka in The Përkolgjinaj, Nikolla in Enemies, Sasha Ribakov in The Kremlin Hours, Luben in The Leipzig Trial, and Hamlet in Hamlet. His last role, Jonuz Bruga in The Fisherman’s Family, was the 80th in his prolific career.

In cinema, he appeared in eight films, including Skanderbeg (1953) and Tana (1958). His mastery earned him the title “People’s Artist” and the high decoration “Hero of Socialist Labour.”

By decision of the Council of Ministers, on April 29, 1959, he was awarded the Second Class Republic Prize.
