NATO Assistant Secretary General Visits Kosova, Focus on Opening the Ibër Bridge

NATO’s Assistant Secretary General for Operations, Thomas Goffus, is visiting Kosova today, a visit confirmed by Prime Minister Albin Kurti during a government meeting. Kurti announced that discussions with Goffus will focus on the opening of the Ibër Bridge in Mitrovica.
Kosovan Prime Minister also revealed that Kosova will host visits next week from two foreign ministers from NATO member countries.
“Thursday’s meeting with Thomas Goffus will address the opening of the central bridge over the Ibër River in Mitrovica. We are conducting all necessary consultations and preparing internally, including reviewing the preliminary draft on the bridge’s physical stability while awaiting the final report. Preparations are also underway for restoring the bridge’s appearance and cleaning up the surrounding environment. The opening of the bridge represents freedom of movement, which is a fundamental right in both Kosovo and the European Union,” Kurti emphasized.
