NATO has condemned the attack on the EULEX patrol in the north of Kosovo.

NATO spokeswoman Oana Lungescu has said that any such attack is unacceptable and that the perpetrators must be held accountable.

“We join NATO and EU Allies in strongly condemning the stun grenade attack on a EULEX reconnaissance patrol last night. Any such attack is unacceptable and those responsible must be held to account,” Lungescu writes on Twitter.

Furthermore, Lungescu calls on the parties to avoid provocative actions and rhetoric and to contribute to calm and stability.

“The KFOR mission remains extremely alert and fully capable of carrying it out under the UN mandate in Kosovo. We call on all parties to avoid provocative actions and rhetoric and to contribute to calm and stability,” concludes Lungescu.
