North of Kosova, Head of KFOR meets with Vucic: We are ready for any kind of scenario

The commander of the NATO-led KFOR mission, Major General Angelo Michele Ristuccia, met in Belgrade with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic to discuss the situation in northern Kosova.
According to KFOR press release, Commander of the NATO-led KFOR mission, Major General Angelo Ristuccia, met with President of Serbia Alexander Vucic in Belgrade to discuss the general security situation in the region and KFOR’s activities in accordance with its UN mandate and in support to the EU- led dialogue for the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Prishtina. KFOR commander expressed deep concern about the latest development in the North municipalities of Kosova after the events of last 29th May, when several KFOR peacekeepers were wounded during unprovoked attacks by criminal elements who infiltrated peaceful protests.
“After the meeting with President (Vucic), Commander of KFOR had the opportunity to meet General Mojsilovic, Serbian Armed Forces Chief of General Staff. They renewed their collaboration and agreed that all sides need to de-escalate the tensions. KFOR is ready to face any kind of scenario and keeps monitoring situation on the ground. KFOR continues to operate impartially, within strict rules of Engagement (ROE) and is taking all necessary measures to implement its mandate based on the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999, to ensure a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement for all communities in Kosova”, writes KFOR press release.
KFOR press release says that the KFOR Commander remains in close contact with his main interlocutors, including the representatives of the Institutions and security organizations in Kosova, the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, as well as the EU-led Rule of Law Mission (EULEX) along with other representatives of the international community.
