TIRANA, November 28 – The 113th anniversary of Albania’s Independence and the November celebrations are also taking place in Presheva, Bujanoc, Medvegja and Sanxhak in south Serbia. The events highlight the importance of this national date for Albanian communities across the region.

Albania’s Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports, Blendi Gonxhja, said that the celebrations look richer this year. He noted that, for the first time, support from the Albanian Government and the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports has helped create a stronger festive atmosphere in Presheva, Bujanoc, Medvegja and Sanxhak.

Gonxhja said that cultural and artistic activities, theatre performances, exhibitions, concerts and artisan fairs bring the spirit of the celebrations across the valley. He added that “We celebrate together, wherever we are”.

The festive mood has spread across the Albanian communities in the Presheva Valley. These communities mark a meaningful day and reaffirm their connection to national traditions, no matter where they live.
