Nufi Condemns Attack on Socialist Party Headquarters as Protesters Set Fire to Tirana Police Station

Defence Minister Ermal Nufi has condemned the attack on the Socialist Party headquarters, calling it a threat to political pluralism and democracy. Meanwhile, protesters set fire to Police Station No. 3 on Mine Peza Street in Tirana, injuring several police officers, according to reports.
In a social media post, Nufi stressed that political opponents must confront each other through arguments and votes, not violence. He described the attack as a “fascist act” and warned that extremism threatens social peace. He also recalled the 1997 crisis, claiming that political party headquarters had remained untouched even during that period.
“Albania is not a battlefield for radical ideologies. Stop political violence,” Nufi wrote.
Meanwhile, protesters set fire to the reception offices at Police Station No. 3. Police units secured the area, while firefighters responded to the blaze. Two ambulances also arrived to provide first aid to several officers injured in the attack.
