Ohrid Agreement/ Kurti closes the meeting in Tirana: We ask for Albania’s support in the international arena

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, spoke after separate meetings with Rama, Nikolla, Bega and Meta in Tirana. Kurti said that the visit was made within the framework of the agreement reached with Serbia in Ohrid. The head of the government of Kosovo said that he informed the main representatives of the state closely and in more detail. He further commented on the meeting with Meta, where he stated that he met him in the capacity of the former president and not as the chairman of the Freedom Party. Asked what he would like from Albania, Kurti emphasized Albania’s help to represent in international relations and Kosovo’s membership in international organizations.
“I wanted to inform them closely and in detail about the dialogue process but also about the constituent elements of the agreement.
Albania is much closer to Kosovo and this is also seen in the relations between us and the representation of the latter in the organizations of the international arena.
We ask Albania for support in international forums for Kosovo. Sovereignty, independence and international integrity must be protected. But also to help us to join international organizations.”
A complex situation for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue should be viewed carefully by Albania. This agreement is de facto mutual recognition and I also explained to them that Article 7, which talks about the management of the Serbian community, actually corresponds to the framework agreement to protect national minorities,” said Kurti.
