He is one of the citizens of old Tirana, something that can be easily noticed in the paintings of Serxho Petrela. Old neighborhoods, alleys, courtyards, but also authentic houses are strong elements that testify the oldness of the present metropolis.

“People say that you are the painter of the alleys of Tirana, there are many paintings and I haven’t counted them, but let’s not forget that the city has pearls,” says the painter.

The element of the history feelings speaks of the nostalgia of the inhabitants of that time who seek to grab a piece of it from the painter.

“Through painting, I entertain a little with historical memory, feelings and nostalgia, and I see that it is successful,” Serxho Petrela points out.

However, the painter’s gallery is wider than that, elements of old vessels and mostly calm landscapes are another feature of it.

During his long artistic career of more than 4 decades, Serxho has opened many painting exhibitions.
