”Open Balkan” initiative, agreements and memorandums of understanding signed between the parties, Kosovo still refuses to join

The ministers of the 5 countries of the Western Balkans, Albania, North Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina have signed an agreement and 3 important memorandums of understanding  at the Ohrid summit in North Macedonia.

The agreement for cooperation in the Western Balkans in the field of mutual recognition of diplomas and scientific degrees issued in higher education institutions and other authorized institutions were signed. Also the  Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in the field of tourism in the Western Balkans, Memorandum of Understanding for cultural cooperation in the Western Balkans, Memorandum of Understanding on the Cooperation of Tax Administrations in the Western Balkans were among the approved according to the agenda. 

Unlike previous summits, this “Open Balkans” summit was joined by Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina, where the two countries declared that they would join this regional initiative. Kosovo is the only country out of 6 Western Balkan countries that has not joined this initiative.
