Opera House brings ‘A masked ball’

June starts at the Opera House with “A masked ball”, a production of the Regio di Parma Theater, which comes to Tirana for 4 consecutive nights thanks to the cooperation signed between 2 institutions. Mini-shows will be held in the main squares of the capital within the Albanian program of “Verdi off”.
“Opera has been doing the same thing for centuries, uniting people around the world, to inherit the strongest messages, messages which have created the history of humanity in fact”, says the director of the Opera House, Zana Çela.
What makes this four-act opera by Verdi unique is the Italian scenographic heritage, which dates back 109 years and was accidentally discovered in the warehouses of the Teatro Regio di Parma, without anyone knowing about its existence and values. After the restoration that took a year, it was performed in Italy where the protagonist of the count, was interpreted by the Albanian tenor Saimir Pirgu.
On the first night, soprano Eva Golemi will play the role of Amelia, while Likaj will be in the role of Renato. The protagonist, Count Riccardo belongs to the Italian caste and is Dario Di Vietri.
The collaboration with Teatro Regio Di Parma will continue in the next two years with the operas “Traviata” and “Rigoleto”, while from May 31 to June 7 the public will have the opportunity to watch over 50 activities during the Italian Week.
