OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Ian Borg on Official Visit to Albania and the Region

Ian Borg, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malta, and the upcoming Chairperson-in-Office of the OSCE, will visit Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Albania from November 10 to 13.

The visit will begin in Bosnia and Herzegovina on November 10, where Borg will meet with Foreign Minister Elmedin Konaković, members of the Presidency, the leadership of both Houses of Parliament, and the Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers, Borjana Krišto. He will also deliver an opening address at an event marking the 30th anniversary of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s signing of the OSCE Code of Conduct on political-military security matters. Additionally, Borg will engage with civil society organizations in Konjic and visit the OSCE Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On November 12, Borg will travel to Montenegro, where he will meet with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ervin Ibrahimović. Borg will visit the OSCE Mission in Montenegro and hold discussions with civil society representatives.

In the afternoon, Borg will continue his trip to North Macedonia, where he is scheduled to meet with Speaker of Parliament Afrim Gashi, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, and Foreign Minister Timčo Mucunski. He will also participate in an OSCE Troika meeting with North Macedonia’s and Finland’s Foreign Ministers. Borg will visit the OSCE Mission in Skopje and meet with civil society organizations.

Borg will conclude his visit on November 13 in Albania, where he will meet with President Bajram Begaj and Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Igli Hasani. He will also visit the OSCE Presence in Albania and meet with representatives of civil society organizations.
