After returning from the USA, President Vjosa Osmani spoke about the topics she discussed with the American Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, and the promises he gave her and Prime Minister Kurti.
She said that the visit there was extremely important because the focus was on deepening bilateral relations. Osmani said that the millions that came out of the agreement with MCC is the biggest investment that Kosovo has received from the US in the energy sector, saying that the US is helping Kosovo in the most important sectors.

The president listed the topics discussed in the meeting with Blinken.

“The first was the strengthening of the international position of Kosovo. The vast majority of recognitions and interferences are largely with the support of the USA. We have essentially discussed how Kosovo’s position can be strengthened and how the number of recognitions can be increased. Personally, Blinken, but also Biden, have been investors in the past. We have the support of the USA to take concrete steps”.

Osmani said that the second topic was the danger from Russian influence in the region and said that they have clarified why it is important for our region not to allow the Russian intentions, which seek to destabilize the European continent.

Likewise, the topic of dialogue, which Blinken himself mentioned, was among the most important topics discussed.

“It was reconfirmed that the process is focused on mutual recognition and we have expressed our positions and informed him where we stand, for example on energy, with the implementation phase and other issues. The American stance has been reconfirmed that it would never advance an issue that would affect the sovereignty and constitutional arrangement of Kosovo”.
