Kosovo’s President Vjosa Osmani honored the 81st birthday of former President Ibrahim Rugova, calling him “the architect of independence” and “an eternal inspiration.”

Osmani said Rugova remains a symbol of resistance and of the vision for a free, independent, and democratic Kosovo.

“Born 81 years ago, President Ibrahim Rugova became the voice of reason and determination in difficult times. He guided Kosovo toward freedom and independence,” Osmani wrote on social media.

She noted that Rugova’s wisdom, political culture, and long-term vision placed Kosovo’s cause at the top of international diplomacy.

“His legacy inspires our commitment to peace and to a sovereign state integrated into the Euro-Atlantic family. Glory to his life, his work, and his ideals,” Osmani concluded.
