President Vjosa Osmani met today with Riho Terras, the European Parliament’s rapporteur for Kosovo.

They discussed recent political developments in the country.

Osmani said the local elections were free, calm and democratic. She noted that the transfer of power happened peacefully.

She stated that the EU’s ongoing measures against Kosovo remain unexplained, unfair and unjustified.
Osmani asked Terras to support their quick removal. She warned that the measures harm citizens and weaken trust in the EU integration process. She said Kosovo has met all obligations requested by European partners.

Osmani added that lifting the measures would send a strong signal to citizens and encourage reforms.

She also urged the EU to process Kosovo’s membership request as soon as possible and to follow a merit-based approach.

Osmani presented international data showing Kosovo’s strong performance in key sectors.
