Painter Gazmend Leka brings 20 paintings, with characters immersed in misery

20 paintings, with characters immersed in misery, Gazmend Leka brings them sanctified. The painter describes his exhibition as an attempt against the missing humanity.
“I wanted to touch the man, the believer, who entered the church, made the cross in front of Saint Mary, while at the door there was a “Mary” who was begging and he passed by with indifference…”
“I addressed the topic of people who are excluded from society, from the indifference of society, but I say it for the first time, that we really see the outside, we see the appearance, the physical, but if you look around, we have many people empty in spirit and this is the biggest thing that has happened here”, says the painter Gazmend Leka.
The artist tries to oppose this disregard, of the lives that wander with the burden of poverty, in the alleys, neighborhoods of the country or in the suburbs. Misery has no geography, he says, while he thinks of addressing the characters with “dear brother”, the message goes to those who can make a turn in their lives, so he entitles the exhibition “And the stars sit and watch” , like Archibald Kroni’s novel, which he had read in his youth.
He builds the paintings as theatrical scenes, and while some of the protagonists are known to him, others are inspirations through images that have left the most impressions. He places himself in the center, in the role of the painter, the observer of what surrounds him in the vortex of misery, while he sees the affected visitors, he hopes that this time the painting will be the herald of the missing humanity.
