Seventy-seven years ago, on November 13, 1948, actress Pavlina Mani was born in Lushnjë.

She became one of the most remarkable figures in Albanian performing arts. Through her many roles, she created unforgettable characters that left a lasting mark on audiences—whether on stage, on television, or in cinema.

Some of her best-known roles include Liria in the comedy “Pallati 176,” Drita in the TV series “Njerëz dhe Fate,” Miss Lulushe in “Pas Vdekjes,” Miriam in “Radiostacioni,” her role in Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night,” Antigona in “Stola në Park,” and the music teacher in the film “Lulëkuqet mbi Mure.”

Audiences of all ages still remember her most iconic lines and characters. Throughout her long career, Pavlina Mani played dozens of roles—strong and fragile, strict and playful—always with exceptional artistry.

Her first role was Larisa in Ostrovsky’s play “The Girl Without a Dowry.” She ended her career playing Flori’s mother in the series “Njerëz dhe Fate.” She appeared in 13 feature films, first gaining recognition in Kujtim Çashku’s film “Pas Vdekjes.”

Pavlina Mani was married to the late film and theatre director Pirro Mani.
