Pendarovski: Albanian language, among the most important pillars of the cultural and spiritual identity of Albanians

The Macedonian President, Stevo Pendarovski, on the occasion of November 22, the Day of the Alphabet of the Albanian Language, sent a congratulatory message to the members of the Albanian ethnic community in the Republic of North Macedonia, reports ATA.
“115 years ago, precisely in our Monastery, the unification of the Albanian language alphabet took place as a key step in the codification of the Albanian language, which is undoubtedly one of the most important pillars of the cultural and spiritual identity of Albanians”, stressed Pendarovski in his congratulatory message.
The President points out that at the beginning of the 20th century, in the Ottoman Empire, the most prominent Albanian intellectuals from all over the world gathered in a congress, which resulted in the historic decision to approve the alphabet of the Albanian language.
“The fruits of this crucial political and cultural act are enjoyed by all Albanians wherever they are. We are proud that today the Albanian community is an inseparable part of the multi-ethnic and multicultural Republic of North Macedonia. Sending the most sincere wishes, to spend the holiday in peace, health, joy and well-being, I wish once again to confirm the common convictions for solidarity and equality, as the key to the prosperity of our common homeland”, reads the message of Pendarovski.
